Covid-19 plan

As you may have seen, the CDC, our president, and our governor made a statement allowing those who are fully vaccinated to not wear a mask indoors. This is good news that we are moving in the right direction as we invite more “normalcy” to return to our daily lives.

However, we also know that this announcement may feel sudden and can be unnerving for some. In some ways, many have become accustomed to the mask and the protection it provides.

From the beginning of the pandemic, Phos Church has adhered to the CDC guidelines. We have followed these guidelines along this journey and sought to honor our brothers and sisters by wearing a mask so that all can come to a safe space to worship. We will continue to follow CDC guidelines by adjusting our mask policy.

Three things are important to recognize:

  1. Beginning this Sunday, May 16, masks will no longer be required for fully vaccinated people on our church campus, both indoors and outdoors. We will not be asking for proof of vaccination, but relying on your honesty to adhere to these guidelines. Please continue to wear a mask if you have not been fully vaccinated, if you have a compromised immune system, or are around others with compromised immune systems.
  2. On Sunday, June 11, Kentucky’s mask mandate and capacity restrictions will come to an end. At this point, masks will not be required on our campus.
  3. This new mask policy does not include children in elementary school or volunteers serving with children. The governor’s statement still requires masking for childcare settings, so our kid hall will be a masked zone for now.

Our hope in all things is to love our neighbors. We hope you’ll join us in this effort as we return to normalcy together as a whole church family.

As always, we thank you for your prayer, support and patience.
